It’s been one of my childhood dreams to go dolphin watching. Here in Dubai I live very close
to a Dolphin park at the Atlantis hotel. For a princely sum, you could watch
them up-close, swim with them and even get them to kiss you for a photo
opportunity! Notwithstanding my inability to swim and unwillingness to pay, I
somehow find the whole thing artificial. At least that was the excuse I gave
myself for not venturing out to fulfill my childhood dream, all these years.
So I was overjoyed when we decided to go dolphin watching during our
recent trip to Muscat .
I would rather let you enjoy this 30 sec video than bore you with the details.
Shot from the deck of the boat with a camera with no zoom – yeah it was that
close, truly out of this world!
Oh before I forget, more than seeing the dolphins, Smera was fascinated
at the white foam that formed around the boat as the powerful Honda engine
ripped through the calm ocean. She kept leaping forward to touch the whitewater
shouting ‘Mamma – Shampoo!’ Yeah it’s the dolphins bathing – said Mamma.
Video by Smera’s daddy and pictures by his brother.
I knw, watching dolphins in the sea of oman is so much fun! not tamed or anything they are at their best. The best part they try to race with your boat! loved the clicks too :)
ReplyDeleteNothing like watching the dolphins! A delight anytime... have seen them while sailing the seas and elsewhere too! I had written a post sometime back about this http://rahulsblogandcollections.blogspot.in/2012/07/volcanic-rock-formations-in-akaroa.html.
ReplyDeletePrachee & Rahul - Yes they are beautiful creatures and seeing them play in the sea was a pure bliss .. Thanks for stopping by.

Its one of dreams that obviously will take some time to happen with me in reality... :P :P :P

ReplyDeleteThe first shot is just awesome! Kudos to the photographer for hitting the button at the right moment!
ReplyDeleteWatching dolphins is delightful (the bathing ones too :) ). Beautiful place, I must say. Hey the video is really good and the pictures are great.
ReplyDeleteI remember going Dolphin watching off the coast of Goa where they take you in a catamaran boat and you can watch the Dolphins up close. It is a lot more different than watching a Dolphin show in any aqua park where you kind of expect them to do the tricks they are trained to do.
ReplyDeletea beautiful work...GOD<3U
